CALIBRATION INSTRUCTIONS

CALIBRATION

SENSOR UNIT:

Instruments needed: DC VERIAC (Zenith Electric type V5HMTF or equivalent.) 
In series connect A FLUKE 77 MULTIMETER (or equivalent.) 
4 test leads, two for VERIAC, two for FLUKE meter

1. Connect one test lead from VERIAC to the Sheild-Check probe

2. Connect one test lead from VERIAC to Shield-Check reference plate.

3. Place the Sheild-check on the reference plate and place the probe directly onto top sensing disc.

4. Rotate the voltage dial through Sheild-Check's voltage range according change over points on the FLUKE METER set to volts DC

NOTE: All internal components are fixed so no adjustment is required. This calibration procedure is a check to verify that the unit is in proper working order.

DISCHARGE SIMULATOR UNIT:

Instruments needed: FLUKE 8840A multimeter or equivalent 
2 Test Leads

1. Set Multimeter to Volts DC. (120 volts)

2. Connect positive lead from Multimeter to RED BANANA SOCKET on Discharge Simulator.

3. Connect negative lead from Multimeter to BLACK BANANA SOCKET on Discharge Simulator.

4. Press the Discharge button on Simulator and record voltage briefly displayed on Multimeter.

NOTE: All internal components are fixed so no adjustments are required. This calibration procedure is a check to verify that the unit is in proper working order.
