Staticide® Heavy Duty

Eliminate Static on Carpets, Upholstery, & Fabrics

Staticide® Heavy Duty is an easy to use topical antistatic coating that's highly effective at eliminating static and preventing tribogeneration in industrial manufacturing and other static sensitive environments. Originally designed for porous surfaces such as carpets, upholstery, and fabrics, it's also appropriate for use in avoiding jamming or material slippage during printing, packaging, and converting. This solution can even be used as an aid to avert dangerous static ignition of combustible vapors, dust, or solvents.

A key component in any static control program, Staticide® Heavy Duty is non-toxic, non-flammable, and non-staining. When properly used and applied, Staticide® can be considered and classified as low charging according to the low charging packaging material properties described in ANSI/ESD S541-2019 when tested according to ESD ADV11.21.

Ideal for the following applications:

  • Preventing dust attraction
  • Reducing damage to sensitive electronic components and assemblies during manufacture, testing, packaging, shipping, and receiving
  • Avoiding jamming or slipping of paper, plastics, and other materials during printing, packaging, and converting
  • Averting ignition of combustible vapors, dust, and solvents
  • Controlling irregularities caused by static in quality printing, heat sealing, silk screening, lamination, and other special applications
  • Dissipate static on workbenches and production surfaces

FEATURES:

  • Formulated for porous surfaces
  • Exceeds MIL-B-81705 and NFPA-56A electrostatic decay criteria
  • Meets requirements for topical anti-stats as listed in DOD-HDBK-263
  • Proven effective in relative humidity below 15%
  • Decays static in less than 2 seconds
  • Surface resistance between 10^9 - 10^10 ohms
  • Covers approximately 2000 sq.ft. per gallon
  • Lasts from weeks to months depending on application

Directions:

Staticide® topicals have a similar viscosity to water and can be applied by spraying, wiping, dipping, transfer roller coating, gravure coating, or flexographic printing. Allow applied solution to dry before continuing use.

For high production applications, mechanically apply solution using fine-mist sprayers or foam rollers. The product can also be manually sprayed using a trigger sprayer 8-12” from target surface.

For carpet, apply so that fibers absorb the Staticide®. It should feel damp but not saturated.
